Residential focus on London zone 1

There are eighty-three (83) stations to travel from in zone 1 – Aldgate to Westminster as detailed on Wikipedia here. In this article we will look at three areas and their stations to give you an overview of residential dwellings in those areas and the transportation to and from the areas. Further due diligence will be required particularly on any property search. If you are looking for a residential opportunity for relocation or investment, you may like to secure an Area Tour where we arrange accompanied tours of up to three pre-chosen London or Kent areas. During the full-day tour, you will be shown up to 5 example properties and provided with information on services, amenities and leisure activities within the areas.

Please note that we would cover all London zone 1 areas in any off-market property search, area tours or project managing refurbishments. However this article will look at the residential prospects for relocating or investing in the areas identified particularly for entrepreneurs, executives and family offices/businesses.

Hoxton

Services and connections from Hoxton include the East London line to Highbury & Islington,  Dalston Junction, West Croydon, Crystal Palace and New Cross. This zone 1 area is brimming with entrepreneurial seed funded businesses looking for series A funding. For the VCs and angel investors focused on London being at the heart of this business community as part of the short or long-term relocation or investment would be extremely beneficial. Most importantly return on investment when focused on the long-term will yield greatly as according to the Financial Times on 3 July, Hoxton property prices at five-year low. Hoxton is in the London borough of Hackney and is breaming with Victoria era properties, there is a local market which is the cornerstone of the local community, plus a great opportunity to find out about opportunities for any Property Search that we can conduct on behalf of clients.

Notting Hill Gate

Close by to the station of Notting Hill Station is Portobello Road and its Portobello Market, in addition Kensington Palace Gardens. The tube station is on the Circle and District line. You may also be familiar with Notting Hill that was made famous in the film of the same name, plus the carnival that happens every year in August. The area has a high concentration of tourists. Independent businesses consisting of those in the creative industry is high in the area. The local authority/ borough council for the area is Kensington & Chelsea. As mentioned in a previous post the borough of Kensington & Chelsea is a favourite among American expats. There are many service apartments within the area some may want to sell to an investor and this could be highlighted in any due diligence following on from being commissioned for a Property Search.

Pimlico

The area of Pimlico is primarily residential grade II listed buildings in the City of Westminster. This is another sort after area for senior level corporate executives and civil servants particularly those that are frequenting the Houses of Parliament and the surrounding central government departments. The area is easily walkable to London attractions, universities, green spaces and commercial areas. The underground (tube) station serves the Victoria line. An Area Tour would be an ideal opportunity to determine if this area proves beneficial for your needs whether you would like to purchase or rent in the area.
